Look at your vulva seriously, do it and the first, most obvious thing you'll see are you labia. Like everything else on your lil bod, they come in all shapes, colors, and sizes, and almost all of them are totally normal and healthy. But, for some reason unfair scrutiny on female bodies, unrealistic expectations of what your own anatomy should look like , the labia get a lot of undue scrutiny. What you need to know is that, unless yours are burning, itching, or have bumps on them, they're healthy and good.
About the project
Vagina Art as the Origin of the World or Just a Sex-Rush? | Widewalls
The British artist Jamie McCartney has set out to quell anxieties about female body image. His working process was broadcast live on the internet during the week-long Red Tent Revival , a free online festival for women. This is fascism. This is the industries who are invested in making women feel shit about themselves. He then spent five years creating his best-known work, The Great Wall of Vagina , a foot-long, self-funded sculpture of plaster casts of vulvas.
Everything You Could Possibly Need to Know About Your Labia
You might be surprised, but the word is commonly avoided in conversation, according to many surveys. What about pussy, cunt, fanny, clunge, muff, twat, honeypot? Also, according to many surveys, men feel more comfortable to use vulgar slang words for vagina, while women tend not to talk about vagina with men. Why is that so? Anyway, when we speak about vagina and art, the tubular part of the female genital tract has always been an inspiration for artists.
In front of Pushdot Studio's large, Southeast Division Street-facing windows, Arkady Brown opens a portfolio almost a year in the making: four glossy pages, each covered in a grid of close-up shots of 48 different vulvas. It's the first time Brown has seen the art, and she's practically giddy. Brown, who works as a boudoir photographer, began taking the photos for the Vulva Art Project almost a year ago after posting an open call for models on her Facebook page.
